The application is on my motorcycle handlebar crossbar.I gave it 4 starts because it does what it's supposed to do and does not slip while riding. To start the mount is a little cumbersome to work with and the instructions not as directive as they could be. down the road I'll go with a helmet cam. It has enough tension so that you can make minor adjustment on the fly.Good starter system (Flip cam and mount). Once I was able to mount it it worked fine. I still use it.
Most of my video was of the ground about 10 feet in front of my bike. The quality of the video the camera gives is well worth the effort to get the mount to work. Tried this out yesterday on a mountain bike ride. I think that I have it adjusted better now but I won't get a chance to try it out until next weekend. Even going in and out of the shade in the woods the picture was great (just didn't have it framed right).Mounting the mount on the helmet is kind of annoying because you have to twist the velcro straps to get them to engage and hold right, it took me a while to figure this out. It keeps the camera secure, which is good. It was hard to make sure that the mount was on the crown of my helmet, but some of that is due to my helmet (Giro Pneumo).
Overall, this product is a piece of crap and I am returning it asap. If you are mountain biking, the resulting video will just cause a seizure. This product is really poorly designed. Duct tape would have worked better. Finally, don't bother trying to mount it to a bicycle. Rather, mount it to your helmet and duck whenever you go under a tree. The velcro straps broke almost immediately when I tried to tighten them enough that the mount would not rotate. Also, the layout of the straps makes little sense because it has to cross directly over the bolt that must be inserted into the flip camera.
Size is unvaluable, have it with me all the time. Defenetly the product/gadget I will spent the most time with the next year. Simple and ease of use is key words to make instant videos.
but a great application for your flip once used. it's a bit difficult to configure onto objects.
